Frequently Asked Questions

Waggy Tails N Happy Trails Pet Sitting

Q: Will my pets and I have the opportunity to meet the pet sitter before hand?
A: Of course! I wouldn't trust my pets with just anyone and neither should you. During our initial telephone consultation, we will discuss a date and time to meet at your home. When I arrive, you may introduce me to your pet(s) and we will discuss in detail the services required to suit you and your pet's specific needs. You will have the opportunity to review my qualifications and I will answer any additional questions you may have.

Q: How are the keys to my home managed?
A: You have two options as to how the keys to your home are managed. If you anticipate using the service frequently, you may choose to enroll you in the "Ready Key" program. This program allows for speedy reservations without the need for key pick-up and drop-off. You will provide two keys, one to be kept with the pet sitter and the other to be retained in the office. Your other option is to arrange for me to pick-up and drop off your keys before and after the service. Keys are labeled with a discrete code and are kept separate from the corresponding client files. All precautions are taken to safeguard and protect the identity of all house keys.

Cat : Pet SittingQ: What happens when I return home from my trip?
A: When you return home, please call to notify me that you have returned. If I do not receive a phone call, email, etc., I will continue to care for the pet. In the event that your travel plans changed due to un-anticipated circumstances, your pet will not be left without food, water, and care.

Q: Will people I don't know come to my home?
A: No. I will not allow anyone to enter your home while I am providing my service unless prior arrangements are made.

Q: What if the pet sitter is not available during the time of my trip?
A: I will do my absolute best to be available for your pet sitting needs. In the unlikely event that I am unavailable, I will assist you in making arrangements with another accredited, qualified, and caring pet sitter to take on the assignment.

Dog : Dog WalkingQ: What if there is an emergency while I am away?
A: I treat my own pets as if they were my children, and I will treat your pets as if they were my own. In the event of a natural disaster such as an earthquake, fire, etc., I will transport your pets away from danger and notify you as to what has happened. If you have an emergency while you are away and are required to stay away for longer than previously arranged, I will continue to care for your pets until you return home. If there is a medical emergency with your pet while you are away, I will transport your pet to your veterinarian where medical attention can be given. A Vet Authorization Card will be completed before the first pet sitting assignment to allow me to make decisions along with the vet as to the treatment of the pet. If the pet sitter has a personal emergency, I will make arrangements with another accredited, qualified, and caring pet sitter to provide continuing care for your pet. You will be notified in the event of any emergency.
